While most of us envision Julia Roberts in her “Pretty Woman” role when we think of over the knee leather boots, there’s no need to look like a lady of the night when wearing a pair of our own.
So how do we pull off the glamorous, put-together, runway model look when we’re not 6 feet tall and 90 pounds? Here are a few fashion stylist tips that will help you choose the right boot with the right outfit so that you look right on!

Since over the knee ladies leather boots can make a short girl look shorter by visually cutting her in half, it’s important that the short girl use her head when pulling off this look. That is always true when picking ladies shoes. Start with thinking tall! Next, minimize the visual break-ups in your look. Think tall and monotone! Choose to wear a black thigh high boot with a black pant in either a skinny jean or a pair of tights or leggings. If you manage to find the right pair of over the knee ladies leather boots, then pair them with tights or leggings so that there isn’t any skin showing above the boot and the skin that is exposed is held in by the tight material. This will give you a longer leaner look. Wear your over the knee boots with a black or gray sweater dress or wool skirt that comes down to almost the top of the boot. A tailored trench coat or long cardigan will help to balance the look. Remember to check that you are not appearing to be a marshmallow on long stilts. Balance the top and the bottom and you’ll look terrific!
